Introduction
Boa constrictors are a pretty cool snake if you don’t mind handling a snake that gets up to 120 inches (304.8cm) and can eat rabbits as a staple diet. Boas are not considered a beginner reptile but can be kept if you have been around big snakes or are ready to move up to the next level. When talking about Boa Constrictors there are a few types around but there care is mainly the same. These constrictors are just that they do not inject venom but squeeze on the exhale of its prey item so they cannot fill there lungs up more.

Royal Pythons (Python regius)or Ball Pythons are great as a second choice beginner snake. This is because some ball pythons can be really shy and picky eaters. Most of the time they are great as a first choice snake. They don’t get big at all they usually max out around 5 feet in length and get a decent size girth. Since they come from Africa they require some humidity. Since they are a snake they do not need special lighting. Ball Pythons are an inexpensive snake for your standard morphs; you can usually pick up a normal for about $15.00 – $30.00.

Burmese pythons (python molurus bivittatus) are for your advanced reptile keeper. These snake’s usually get around 18 feet in length which is bigger than your standard full size suv passenger car. As babies these snakes are pretty decent size until they hit adult stage. They are a semi-tropical to tropical species that ranges throughout Southeast Asia. This snake is fairly inexpensive as babies but can range up to thousands of dollars. The most expensive part about this snake is its caging and food items which are pretty high up in cost.

Native to the USA they can tolerate most of our climate conditions.
